The Roi Et Municipality in Mueang Roi Et District, Roi Et Province, has implemented the "Community Well-being for a Sustainable Roi Et" project, funded by the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth). The project was conducted from October 1, 2021, to September 30, 2023. We have 400 people who participated in the project. Its goal is to enhance the potential and capacity of Roi Et Municipality to be a model for urban community health management. This is achieved by leveraging community and social assets to design area management systems and develop innovations and public policies.
The project includes eight key areas and two additional activities:
- Promoting physical activity
- Preventing and controlling environmental pollution
- Promoting the production and consumption of safe food
- Developing an early childhood care system
- Promoting and enhancing the quality of life for children and youth
- Encouraging participation in elderly care systems
- Monitoring and controlling communicable diseases
- Controlling the consumption of alcohol and tobacco
The two additional activities are:
- Three-Generation Playground
- Brain-Building Playground
This project aims to make Roi Et Municipality a model area capable of managing community health sustainably and effectively, with community collaboration and support from various agencies to comprehensively and sustainably develop health in the area.
CAPSTONE : Tools for Excellence in Roi Et Municipality
The various activities for the sustainability of Roi Et Municipality can be summarized under the principles of "CAPSTONE." The Roi Et Municipality has developed an approach to urban community development that emphasizes effective action and links all activities to create a strong and sustainable society by applying the following principles :
Results
The overall evaluation results of the "Community Well-being for a Sustainable Roi Et" project are at a high level in all aspects. The aspect with the highest average score is "Communication and Transfer," while the aspect with the lowest average score, although still at a high level, is "Impact."
